Schneider Electric has once again solidified their reputation as a global sustainability powerhouse. The leader in digital transformation for energy management and automation have been named the World’s Most Sustainable Corporation 2025 by Corporate Knights, the second time they have topped the prestigious Global 100 index. Schneider Electric first claimed this title in 2021, making them the only company to ever achieve this remarkable distinction twice.
World’s Most Sustainable Corporation 2025
This milestone reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) excellence. Schneider Electric has been a consistent presence on the Global 100 index for 14 consecutive years, ranking in the top 10 an impressive seven times, a record for its industry peer group.
Sustainability has been at the heart of what Schneider Electric does
“For many years now, sustainability has been at the heart of what Schneider Electric does. For an IMPACT company, it’s more than just a corporate goal; it’s the driving force that shapes our business decisions and inspires our employees,” said Olivier Blum, Schneider Electric’s Chief Executive Officer. “This second title as the World’s Most Sustainable Corporation from Corporate Knights, alongside other key ESG recognitions, is testimony to the valuable, long-term positive impact we have.”
Schneider Electric’s 2025 top ranking stems from their leadership in sustainable development practices. The company’s strong performance in areas like gender diversity among its executives and board members, innovative energy efficiency and decarbonisation solutions, and investment in sustainable research and development set it apart. Corporate Knights also highlighted the company’s success in decoupling its energy consumption and carbon emissions from business growth, and its executive pay structure tied to ESG performance.
First-Ever Two-Time Winner of Corporate Knights’ Global 100
“Schneider Electric’s position at the top of the Global 100 index is remarkable. No other company has accomplished this twice,” said Toby Heaps, Corporate Knights’ CEO. “This success stems from Schneider’s broad impact that goes beyond its own sustainability efforts. Schneider provides the technology to enhance energy efficiency, support decarbonisation, and help other companies in their sustainable transitions.”
Schneider Electric’s sustainability leadership has also been affirmed by strong ratings from top ESG assessment organisations:
- S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA): 86/100 – Industry leader, 14 years in the DJSI World index
- EcoVadis: 85/100 – Platinum medal, top 1% of all companies for the 5th year
- Moody’s Analytics (Vigeo Eiris): 73/100 – Included in Euronext Vigeo indices (World 120, Europe 120, and more)
- MSCI ESG rating: AAA – Leader among 165 companies in its peer group, 14th consecutive year at AAA
- Sustainalytics ESG Risk rating: Low risk – 1st out of 301 companies in its peer group
As the company nears the end of its five-year Schneider Sustainability Impact program, set to conclude in 2025, its achievements underscore an unwavering focus on transformative ESG goals. By leading with innovation and impact, Schneider Electric continues to raise the bar for corporate sustainability worldwide.
