Pneumatics Technical Engineer Job Role:
As a key member of our well-respected and successful team of product specialists, this challenging role supporting our Northern Region, but with a customer-facing field bias is designed to help us increase market share. Indeed, we’ll rely on you to seek out, support and develop customers in conjunction with our field sales team and provide application and product knowledge during joint visits and project meetings. Key product areas are electric actuators with both AC servo drives and & DC stepper motors drives, a variety of serial interface capable products linking onto the latest industrial networks. You’ll also be responsible for identifying new opportunities for pneumatic products. In short, this is an interesting, varied and vital role at the heart of our technical support team.
What you’ll need
To succeed in this role you’ll ideally:
- Be qualified with a HNC or degree.
- Have experience of selling and specifying pneumatics, AC/DC drives and/or integrating them into a system.
- A good to high level of understanding of serial/bus systems (EtherNET/IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET/Bus, Devicenet, CClink/SSCNET etc.) and/or experience of integrating them. How to sell them and where to implement them would be an advantage.
- Having a technical knowledge paired with a degree of sales understanding would be beneficial
- Be able to develop relationships with the existing regional sales teams to encourage joint enquiries
- Be comfortable presenting to customers and colleagues as you are liaising with them to solve problems from a technical perspective, a flexible approach and ability to manage a busy workload, including planning and managing your own projects, is important too.
