After the success of the 2024 Robotics and Automation Awards, held on November 6th at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London, we were proud to reaffirm our commitment as a headline sponsor of this prestigious event, specifically for the Innovation in Sustainability Award, which was won this year by Applied EV. In this blog article, we will explain why we chose to sponsor the Robotics & Automation Awards. Please read on.
Having been one of the headline sponsors in the inaugural 2023 event, we were excited to continue our support for the Robotics & Automation Awards, furthering our dedication to promoting sustainability within industrial sectors. A BPX representative shared, “Our decision to sponsor the Innovation in Sustainability Award again underscored our firm belief that sustainability is not just a buzzword but a crucial element for the future of both our industry and the planet. Supporting this award aligned perfectly with our company values and long-term vision.”
As the global need to tackle environmental challenges grows, sustainability has become an essential pillar of innovation. Robotics and automation technologies, in particular, offer transformative potential to help industries reduce waste, improve energy efficiency, and minimise environmental impact. These advancements are central to creating smarter, more sustainable solutions for businesses around the world.
“As leaders in industrial automation and robotics integration, we recognise that fostering sustainable innovation is not only the right thing to do, but also vital for the ongoing health and resilience of our industry,” said the BPX representative. “We are committed to encouraging the next generation of technologies that reduce environmental harm while driving operational efficiencies.”
The BPX Innovation in Sustsianability Award
The Innovation in Sustainability Award specifically celebrates those who are pushing the boundaries of sustainable technology. By sponsoring this award, we highlighted and celebrated the remarkable efforts being made by pioneers in the field. These innovators shape the future of industries, from advanced energy management systems to resource-efficient manufacturing processes, demonstrating how sustainability can and should be integrated into every facet of modern technology.
This year’s winner, Applied EV, demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability with its Digital Backbone technology. By replacing traditional, resource-intensive systems with a software-centric model, Applied EV reduced the environmental impact of vehicle production. The Blanc Robot, an autonomous electric vehicle, used just 8-12 ECUs, drastically cutting component waste by 86%-92%. Its extended lifespan, up to eight times longer than conventional models, reduced component replacement waste by 87%. Applied EV also prioritised sustainability by using recyclable aluminium and lead-free materials, while its drive-by-wire technology optimised energy efficiency and reduced operational emissions.
Our ongoing support for this award reflected our mission to lead with purpose and contribute to a brighter, more sustainable future. We were honoured to celebrate the inspiring advancements made by those who were creating a positive impact on the world, and we looked forward to continuing to support their efforts.
